Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe, who won the French Footballer of the Year award for the 2023/24 season, has praised Arsenal defender William Saliba, saying he is also deserving of the award.

Mbappé therefore earned 56 points in the vote, five more than second-placed William Saliba (23). The former AS Saint-Étienne and Olympique de Marseille centre-back enjoyed a stellar campaign, featuring in the Premier League Team of the Season as the Gunners ran Manchester City close for the title. It was also a year in which Saliba cemented a position as a regular starter for the France national team.
